If you use the same link more than once within an email but want to identify which one is most successful, you can do this by adding a piece of text to the URL. To create your unique URL, add the text below to the end of your link.

The format

?f24linkid=….?

Replace the dots with your own label, keeping the question mark at each end. For example:

?f24linkid=Button1?

Adding it to your URL

Add the text straight onto the end of your link. If your link goes to a specific page, do not put a / between the page name and the first question mark. In a URL, a / starts a new page path, so some websites will look for a page called "?f24linkid=Button1?", which does not exist and will show a 404 error.

Correct
https://www.example.co.uk/products/marketing?f24linkid=Button1?

Incorrect (extra / after the page name)
https://www.example.co.uk/products/marketing/?f24linkid=Button1?

If your link is just your homepage, you can add the text straight after the domain, with or without a /. Both go to the same page, because on a homepage the / is the root of your site rather than a new page. For example:

https://www.force24.co.uk?f24linkid=Button1?

Important: if you are adding the link in the email builder, make sure the "Custom UTM tags" box is ticked under the link. If it isn't ticked, the standard UTM tags will be appended to your link as well.

Seeing it in your reporting

Our tracking link will automatically apply itself to the end of your URL. You will be able to see your label in the reporting like the below.
