Can I insert a video into my email?

Video's are not widely supported in emails, this being as many email clients do not support HTML5 which then causes these to display with a fall back image (that looks like the video) but links to a website where the email can be played.

We fortunately have ways around adding these into your email.

1. Insert a thumbnail image of the video

An image of  the video can be added within your email, this could be a screenshot of the video or an image that best presents the video. If the video is hosted on YouTube, you could have this set to autopay, so that when you add a link to the image and the recipient clicks on the image, it will direct them to play the video straight away.

You can insert an image into your template by using the 'Edit HTML Element' on the right hand side of your email template. Here you can click edit image or use the drag and drop function. Here is a helpful video on how to upload an image

Once you have added your image here, you can also add the link to your video under the 'Hyperlink' section below.

2. Insert an animated GIF

An alternative to an image is also using an animated GIF that represents your video. You can add this in the same way as adding in your image above within the template.
